SUNFLOWER FOR SUU
a non-violent campaign for democracy in Burma one sunflower at a time.Show the world you care!
How do we start to cultivate more awareness of human rights? Becoming aware of others and their situation is like growing a flower. It has to start somewhere — a seed of a thought — and it needs to be cultivated through continual care and attention.
Just as you need to learn about what a flower needs to survive and thrive, we need to learn about the issues and the challenges being faced by our brothers and sisters all over the planet.

This is why we want you to plant a sunflower for Aung San Suu Kyi.
We know that a bunch of sunflowers won’t force the Burmese Military to change their ways. But we do know that greater global awareness will register on politicians radars and help to pressure international diplomacy.
Growing a sunflower is also about ourselves.
It’s about what we stand for and the kind of global citizen we want to be. We can choose to raise awareness about human rights. We can learn about what is happening in other places unfamiliar to our own. We can choose to be aware of those less fortunate. We can learn how we can help to live our lives in a way that might allow them to live theirs.
